i had such a fun session on friday with the ever-beautiful, kristin! she wanted to give her man a little surprise gift of a photo shoot...he was a pro hockey player in canada & she managed to steal away a couple of his most beloved jersey's that she started the shoot in & then we captured her in some flowy-summery-dresses.

i love a challenge.

i am always looking for new & different ways to expand & explore my creativity & stand apart in a heavily saturated photography market. a couple of months ago, my friends over at techinc productions approached me about working on some musical artist portfolios & wanted to know if i would be interested in teaming up with them. {hmmmm...let me think about that...} i about jumped out of my chair!
it is both insanely exciting and challenging to constantly think outside the box when i am photographing people & to break into the entertainment industry would be as big a challenge that i can imagine!! so, with that said, i have my first shoot in a couple weeks with an up and coming band! techinc is filming their music video and i will be doing the stills for their promotional material. i have been working on a street photography-style portfolio to nail down my signature look & yesterday i got the chance to hang with two of the most beautiful ladies i know for an urban-anthropologie-artsy-rocker-inspired shoot. i chose four of my favorite stills & threw the other top 85 snapshots into a slideshow. thanks m & c for sharing your beautiful eyes & laughter with me. i sure am happy you are in my life :)

scarves, jackets & best friends

friends like these are not only easy to shoot, but i find myself laughing hysterically at every interaction they have together. these 8 girls were college roomates at unc-chapel hill {go heels!} & are together this weekend in maggie valley, nc for amy's wedding!
amy asked me to come yesterday and do a pre wedding shoot with her & her best friends so that they could have some fun together before the ceremony tonight. maggie valley is a charming little mountain town near asheville. it was incredibly cold outside for our shoot...it even snowed earlier in the morning! with as much fun as we had, i thought a quick little slideshow would be more appropriate to show my favorite photos...so click **here** to see it!

i LOVE doing feel beautiful shoots with friends!!! it is so fun to be part of the love and friendship that is so special between girls! there is such a natural playfulness that comes with those relationships...something that is easy to capture on film.

these girls are incredibly beautiful on the outside & their hearts are even more wonderful.

i had one of the most relaxing weekends at the beach with these three awesome ladies. nicole is one of my best friends from lake norman & her sister {beth} & mom {jennie} & i spent a few days at their beach house in south carolina. we took some really fun pictures on a typically beautiful evening around sunset. they are just an awesome family and i was so happy that i could do some photos of them. they are going to give these to mr. cartrette for a fathers day gift! what a lucky man, to be surrounded by these beautiful girls all the time!

tonight was SO fun! i had the pleasure of shooting 7 of the most beautiful girls in lake norman! janie, one of my sweet friends, has walked beside her awesome high school girls for 4 years as their young life leader. they are graduating from north meck in a couple of weeks and wanted to have some feel beautiful photos done together. these senior girls rock my socks off! :)
