i really do feel so honored to get to step into my client's lives for an hour or two...capturing life together for them!  this sweet family was really fun to play with and i was loving all the unsolicited showing off that the munchkins were doing for my camera!  

sometimes, you just get lucky with lighting, timing, personalities & even poopy mishaps.  and by poopy mishaps, i mean me, laying in dog doo in the middle of a big grassy knoll & still getting a good shot.  it goes without saying that i'd prefer to not have my side laying in a pile of doo - but i'd do it again to get photos like these :)   make sure you click on a photo to see the bigger version!

the car expert.

last night, i walk in the house where i am having a photo shoot with an adorable family.  up walks knox, a three year old little boy, who politely and confidently says "hello, sharon, how are you doing?"  being blown away, i crouch down and say that i am wonderful and ask him what his name is.  "i'm knox," he says.   he proceeds with our conversation by asking me what kind of car i drive.  he then takes the keys from my hand & holds up the acura key {ryan's car} & asks me what kind it is.  "is it a TL?" he asks.  are you kidding me?!  

his mom and dad told me that knox has a car magazine and can name almost all of the models in it.  i just found him to be wildly entertaining, especially since i am car shopping right now :)   before i got there, he actually asked his mom what kind of car i drove....  they guessed a honda & were right!  knox puts to shame some of the car salesmen that i have dealt with over the past two weeks!  haha.

knox and his baby brother, chase, were precious & we had about 25 minutes of shooting time before the skies opened up on us!  here are some favorites from my time with the miniature car expert  :)

so, erin came to my very first smitten photo academy, when she got my name from a friend, & has been excited about having a photo shoot with her own family ever since!  when we talked last week, on the wednesday night before, i told her that i had this idea to have a little boy holding a bunch of balloons on a big patch of grass...running around - balloons flying everywhere. 

she loved it.

erin's hubby had seen a photo shoot that i did at the palisades of a cutie on the golf course & he thought that would be perfect for their little guy, too - especially since they live there!  combine the balloons with a big green way & add in a blow pop & you've pretty much got the perfect recipe for a smitten photo shoot :)   hope you enjoy some of my favorites...

well, hello there.

i am alive & kicking!  {& so is baby guido!}

we moved this week, into the house we have been renovating for the past month.  we unpacked the last box today...unpacking doesn't mean organized, it just means that we don't have any brown boxes left in our house!  the house is about 95% finished and just needs some love from the honeydo list & then i'll be ready to post some pictures next week!  :)  i absolutely LOVE our house...its just what we hoped it would be & a whole lot more.  my office is basically back together & i have been catching up on emails for what feels like weeks, now.

if you are a new client, please forgive me if you haven't been able to get in touch!  i have terrible {which means NO} phone service in my house and am more than likely having to switch carriers & we just got our cable & internet hooked up yesterday.   so, i am working on getting back to clients as quickly as possible!

i actually did two photo shoots last week, amidst the madness, & i wanted to post some favorites from the first of those!  so, here is an adorably smitten family with a perfectly drooling 14 month old :)  enjoy!

cute doesn't cut it...

raines was amazing....smiling from the first minute we met.  her rolls were perfectly placed throughout her body, landing mostly on her cheeks, thighs & arms.  i really wanted to eat her up.  i met her mom & dad at a wedding last year when lisa was a week away from having raines.  she was so gorgeous and i told her to make sure she emailed me when the little one was born because if she looked anything like her momma, i wanted that little munchkin in my photos!

well, its 9 months later & boy am i happy we waited.  i was enthralled with raines's personality and charm & really didn't want the session to end.  

here are lots of my favorites to enjoy & may i suggest sitting down with a glass of cold lemonade before viewing them :)

i'm in knoxville, tennessee right now for a wedding that i shot today, but wanted to post some favorites from a mom + dad + kiddos session i had with the adorable jane.  she's 13 months old & full of energy & curiosity.  i kept telling her mom that i loved all of the facial expressions she was making and how everyone of them involved her little hand by her face.  its one of those things that parents can't see during the shoot & i reassure them that they are going to love the fun. fresh. real. photos that were taken of their little munchkin :)  hope you enjoy some of my favorites & enjoyed THIS beautiful saturday!...

from sea to shining lake...

this awesome family lives in florida & booked me a couple months ago for a shoot while they were in town visiting family & friends over the holiday weekend.  i figured we needed to choose a location to remember around here & lake norman, is, of course, the top choice!  so, on our sun-less saturday morning, we played :)

evan celebrated his FIRST birthday, yesterday, & i was happy to get to share an hour of his big day!  his mom & dad were serious rock stars & i had to do very little coaching to get them in a laughing mood at 8 am :)
